Introduction to Ashtanga 4-week course--JUST FOR MEN!

Men often appreciate the unending challenge that ashtanga yoga provides as well as the systematic and structured nature of the practice. This is a great starting point--NO flexibility required!
Class size is limited to 10 (Cost is $50)--Call 221-0594 to register.
On-Going Class Descriptions:
Ashtanga Prep-Over a repeating six classs cycle this class covers the fundamentals of the ashtanga vinyasa system, with each class emphasizing a particular segment of the system.
Mysore Style Ashtanga-– Beginning and advanced students work side by side at there own pace and receive individual guidance and instruction as needed within the group setting. This is the traditional way ashtanga yoga is taught in Mysore, South India.
Ashtanga Led-Refers to the full Primary series of the ashtanga vinyasa system. Every 2nd & 4th class of the month will be taught Mysore style. Previous ashtanga yoga experience recommended.
On-going class fees range from $12 (drop-in) to $7 (20-class pack). For more information call 221-0594.

For those whose schedule does not permit attending a regular class or who want the benefits and privacy of one-on-one instruction, I offer private (or semi-private) sessions.
Typical goals of private sessions are to:
* Learn the fundamentals of ashtanga yoga before beginning classes
* Develop a self practice
* Observe and monitor your progress and make corrections and adjustments
* Answer specific questions about specific aspects of the ashtanga system (postures, breath, sequencing, etc.)

Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga

This workshop is designed to explore the fundamentals of this powerful and popular form of yoga. It will include a brief history of ashtanga yoga and guidelines to traditional practice. You will learn how to properly enter and exit postures using ujjayi breathing and gain a deeper understanding of the importance of this aspect of ashtanga yoga. You will also learn how to move from your body’s core utilizing Mula and Uddiyana Bandha (internal locks) which will help you gain a more intuitive sense of correct postural alignment.
Class participants will be given the tools necessary to begin a self-practice and/or on-going ashtanga classes (informational booklet included).
